The colours represent Vertical Speed (as logged by GPS). Red being fastest up, and dark blue being fastest down. Circling in the thermal can be clearly seen, and the dark blue at the top of the flight is an attempt to loose altitude (while still in rising air!) by the pilot after reaching our clearance height for the day.
